Gutter Repairs Across Sydney

We patch the actual fault instead of hiding it behind silicone.

Gutter Repairs

Most gutter problems start small and get expensive fast. A pinhole rust spot, a joint that has pulled apart, or a bracket that has let go all end up sending water where it shouldn't go — down the fascia, behind the eaves and into the wall cavity. We repair the specific fault rather than smearing silicone over everything and hoping. If a length is too far gone we tell you it needs replacing, not another patch.

Rust holes, split seams and failed joints

The three faults we see most on Sydney gutters are rust perforation on older galvanised runs, silicone-sealed joints that have finally let go, and stop-ends that have popped under the weight of water and debris. Rust almost always starts on the low side of a run where water and grit sit longest, so we check the fall before we touch the metal.

Where a joint has failed we strip the old sealant back to clean metal, re-rivet if the lap has opened up, and re-seal with a neutral-cure sealant rated for continuous water contact. A quick smear over dirty, flexing metal is exactly why the joint failed the first time.

Sagging gutters and pulled brackets

A gutter that sags holds standing water, and standing water accelerates rust and breeds mosquitoes. The usual cause is bracket spacing that is too wide, brackets that have rusted through, or fixings that have pulled out of soft or rotten fascia timber. We re-space and re-fix the brackets to restore the correct fall back to the outlet, and flag any fascia that has gone soft and needs attention.

When a repair makes sense — and when it doesn't

A localised fault on an otherwise sound gutter is worth repairing. But if a run is rusting in multiple places, the profile is pitted along its length, or the metal flexes when you press it, repairs are just money down the drain. We will give you the honest call on the day so you are not paying twice.

What's Included

  • Inspection of the full run to find every fault, not just the obvious leak
  • Rust hole patching or section replacement where the metal is still sound
  • Re-riveting and re-sealing of failed laps and joints
  • Re-fixing and re-spacing of loose or rusted brackets
  • Correcting the fall so water actually reaches the downpipe
  • Clearing debris from the repaired section and testing with water

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you just seal the leak instead of replacing the gutter?

If the metal around the leak is still sound, yes — we clean it back and seal or patch it properly. But sealant only holds on solid metal. If the gutter is rusting through in several spots, sealing one leak just moves the problem, and we'll tell you that up front.

Why does my gutter overflow even though it isn't blocked?

Usually it has lost its fall and now holds water in the middle of the run, or the outlet is undersized for your roof area. We check both. Re-levelling the brackets often fixes it; sometimes an extra outlet or downpipe is the real answer.

How long do gutter repairs take?

Most single-fault repairs — a joint, a bracket run, a rust patch — are a few hours on a standard home. Larger jobs across multiple runs can take most of a day. We give you a realistic time when we quote so you're not left waiting around.

Will a repair match my existing gutter colour?

We carry the common Colorbond colours and match as closely as we can. On older or faded gutters an exact match isn't always possible, and we'll be honest about how a patch will look before we start rather than surprising you afterwards.
