From there we install fresh anti-condensation sarking, new treated battens set to the correct gauge for your chosen covering, then the roof itself. Ridge, hips and valleys are all renewed rather than reused, so you are not carrying old failure points into a new roof.
Choosing between tile and Colorbond for the replacement
The two most common directions for a Sydney re-roof are concrete or terracotta tile, or Colorbond steel. Tile suits heavier heritage and project-home looks and copes well with our UV and coastal salt when maintained. Colorbond is lighter, faster to install, and often the smart choice if the frame is showing its age and you want to reduce the dead load it carries.
